Reddit Live Chat

Sarah did a live Q&A on reddit and here are a few of my favorite question and answers, you can read the whole transcript by clicking HERE!

Sarah, if you awoke tomorrow to discover you were Bruce Willis, what’s the first thing you would do?
Oh my god, that’s so easy! I would just walk around all day yelling “Yippee-Ki-Yay Motherfucker!”
easy.
Seeing Sarah Michelle Gellar say the word ‘motherfucker’ fulfilled in me a need I didn’t know I had.

What was your favorite Buffy episode to work on?
I have a few, so bear with me.
I am in a room full of Buffy fans and everyone is yelling out their favorite episodes!
My first one is The Prom because I just love that whole story, and I thought it just encapsulated the show so well. It was beautiful and heartbreaking.
I also love Hush because I think it’s not just the scariest episode we’ve ever done but the challenge to do a silent episode – I thought it would be easy but it was way harder.
And the other favorite I love is The Body, because it was beyond difficult and heart wrenching to shoot, and I don’t know if many people know this, but my entire first scene was all done in one take. It was 4-5 minutes of one long take.

Spike or Angel?
ANGEL

How is your day going 🙂
My day? well, with mercury in retrograde it didn’t out so great. I spilled my cold medicine all over my car which I had just gotten detailed. Then I locked my keys in a place in the car where keys go and are never found again. But now I’m getting to spend my day with fans so it’s getting better.

I’m so glad I’m finally early for one of these! Buffy is my all-time favorite show, it would just make my year to get a response! Ok two questions (if you don’t mind):
I think part of what makes BtVS so great is that it was so ahead of its time in a lot of ways, while at the same time perfectly encapsulated the era in which it aired. What do you think was Buffy The Vampire Slayer’s greatest contribution to televison/pop culture/etc. (or what has stuck with you the most)?
Buffy had some of the best dialogue ever. Do you have a favorite “Buffy-ism?”
Thanks for being amazing and taking the time to do this!
I think for me the greatest message of Buffy was all about female empowerment, and not just female, but empowerment in general. High school is the scariest part of people’s lives, and I loved that we used the monsters of Buffy as a metaphor for the monsters of life. And to not judge a book by its cover. That we are all capable of taking care of ourselves.
Well I think it’s the lines that have come now – like I love it when people tweet me “What would Buffy Do” or WWBD, or also “She saved the world, a LOT.”

Sarah Michelle Gellar to co-star with Robin Williams in CBS pilot

Source

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Robin Williams. On TV. Together.

This is now a possibility.

Gellar is set to co-star in the CBS pilot Crazy Ones, a single-cam comedy about a father (Williams) and daughter who run an advertising agency together. The former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star will play Sydney Roberts, the intense and driven daughter of Williams’s Simon Roberts.
Gellar last headlined CW’s one-season drama Ringer, a role that was billed as her post-Buffy return to television and was part of the 2011-2012 TV season.

Way Back When : Sarah Michelle Gellar

Screencrush.com

She hasn’t been around much these days, but we’ll always love Sarah Michelle Gellar and the show that made her a star, ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer.’ In today’s Way Back When, we dig way, way back to bring you a peek at Gellar’s pre-’Buffy’ career.

Burger King Commercials

In 1981, little Sarah Michelle Gellar and her adorable face wanted to sell you some burgers from Burger King. Guaranteed to be 20% bigger than the burgers at McDonald’s. Tiny Gellar says the best way to stick it to the burger clown is to buy some burgs from the King. Her resemblance to ‘Wreck-It Ralph’s Vanellope Von Schweetz is kind of bonkers:

Gellar brought her cutie patootie self back to Burger King in 1982 for a holiday commercial that also featured Leah Thompson and Elisabeth Shue (Shuuuuuue!):

Once more, with feeling! Gellar’s final Burger King commercial, from 1993, in which we’re sure her cuteness could unite warring nations and keep homeless people warm for a decade, at least:

‘High Stakes’

Gellar starred as Karen Rose, the daughter of a woman mixed up in the mob in this movie, which also starred Kathy Bates. In the clip below, Karen’s mom reads her a story, but Karen is more concerned with when her mom will get married again because of money.

‘Girl Talk’

If you were a girl growing up in the ’90s, you no doubt remember ‘Girl Talk.’ It started with magazines, but turned into a TV show and board game. Holla if you remember playing with those truth or dare cards and “zit stickers.” But for now, we turn our attention to the short-lived TV series featuring a very young Sarah Michelle Gellar and Soleil Moon Frye — yup, Punky Brewster. Respect. Watch a clip from the show below, which features the girls talking about boys, clothes and music, but sadly no one talks about the keyboardist’s amazingly unfortunate ensemble.

‘A Woman Named Jackie’

In this 1991 TV movie about the life of Jackie Kennedy, Gellar played a miniature version of Jacqueline Bouvier, who later became one of the nation’s most important and celebrated first ladies. And Gellar went on to become one of the most important and celebrated leading ladies of television, which is kiiiiiind of the same.

‘Swans Crossing’

Gellar starred in this teen soap opera in 1992 as Sydney Orion Rutledge (because of course), a wealthy and popular teen girl who gets involved in all sorts of schemes — sound familiar? It’s almost like a ‘Cruel Intentions’ prequel.
